The LaCrosse stations WS-23xx and 36xx are known for sporadic spikes in the data.

With this program you can eliminate these spikes, and works both with Weather-Display and with Virtual Weather Station up to version 12.xx

To run the attached program, the HeavyWeather utility corresponding to your station must be installed in folder C:\VWS\HeavyWeather

First, Create these folders:

C:\VWS

C:\VWS\jpeg\

Install HeavyWeather Pro for WS 3600 or HeavyWeather beta for WS-2300 (depending on the station you are using) in folder C:\VWS\heavyweather (not in the default folder)

Copy the attached hw.exe in folder C:\VWS (overwriting if asked)

Depending on the program you use, install WD or VWS in the default folder (C:\wdisplay or C:\VWS). If it its VWS (must be prior to version 13), again: Copy the attached hw.exe in folder C:\VWS (overwriting if asked)
Weather-Display

For Weather-Display, set HeavyWeather and C:\VWS\hw.exe to start automatically with windows (put shortcuts on the windows startfolder from both).

In Weather-Display, go to Control Panel, Station Type and Settings, and select Stationsless, Read in from a VWS data.csv datafile, then click on Select the data.csv file, and navigate to C:\VWS\jpeg\data.csv if you have Imperial units selected on WD, or C:\VWS\jpeg\data2.csv if you use metric units.

VWS

For VWS, set only HeavyWeather to start together with windows (hw.exe is started automatically by running VWS, put shortcuts on the windows startfolder from both)

In VWS, select as station LaCrosse WS-2300, WS-2310, WS-2315. The attached utility converts currdat.lst accordingly. Do NOT select under Settings the creation of a data.csv file, since this is already created by the hw.exe utility.

This utility does read the currdat.lst file created by Heavyweather in C:\VWS\HeavyWeather, looks and corrects data spikes, and creates 3 files with the corrected data:

C:\VWS\currdat.lst that can be read by VWS

C:\VWS\jpeg\data.csv and C:\VWS\jpeg\data2.csv in VWS format, that can be used to run Weather-Display.

Note that in this manner you can run simultaneously Weather-Display and Virtual Weather Station on the same computer and with only one LaCrosse station attached.
